The above-mentioned vacancies exist at Ipelegeng in the Technical Department. The positions will report to the Workshop Foreman. Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum grade 12 or equivalent academic qualification.
  • Experience & Qualification 3-5 years proven, extensive experience in an
    Industrial Painting environment.
  • A valid driver’s license and PrDP will be an added advantage

 

JOB OUTPUTS

  • Remove rust and other debris from surfaces to be painted.
  • Fill cavities and dents in buses to create an even surface.
  • Mask or tape off details and components to avoid contamination and select the proper colors and substances for the project.
  • Prepare buses to be sprayed.
  • Mix paint to ensure perfect match.
  • Quality check.
  • Apply paint and other material by means of spray equipment i.e. spray gun, rollers, brushers etc.
  • Fiber glass preparation and application.
  • Follow guidelines for safe handling and disposal of hazardous chemical and waste.
  • Ensure that the OHSA (Occupational Health & Safety Act No.85 of 1993 and Regulations) are adhered to at all times.
  • Be able to work without direct supervision and must be self-driven.

  • Knowledge of the bus passenger transport industry.
  • Workshop procedures

  • Sound knowledge of Health and Safety Legislation.

  • Must know different types of tools used in the paint shop.
  • Be able to differentiate and use tools accordingly.
  • Must be able able to work with paint and save costs.
